BJP National President JP Nadda will arrive Tripura on a two-day state tour most likely at the end of this month. As of now, no specific dates have been finalized but a tentative schedule had been sent to his office for approval. Nadda will be visiting for the first time after being appointed as the National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, top sources in the state BJP said. Earlier, his visit has been postponed thrice due to elections in five states and Covid 19 related restrictions. His visit assumes significance crucial by-elections to four assembly constituencies are scheduled in the month of May or June and after that 2023 assembly elections are also on the cards. A state conference of the party will be organized during his visit. During the conference, sources said, the BJP national president will preside over a slew of meetings with all the frontal organizations of the party’s Pradesh unit and review the party’s organizational progress.
His visit is significant in the sense that the party is all set to fight multiple electoral battles just after his visit and presence of the party’s head at such a point of time will act as a morale boost for the party workers. According to the available information, he will also chair a closed door meeting of the party’s core committee in Tripura.
