As part of the nationwide observance of CPR Awareness Week from October 13th to 17th, the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Care department of JIPMER Puducherry conducted a camp on the theme “Every Minute with CPR = Higher Chances of Survival.” The programme aims to create awareness on the importance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and train participants in performing compression-only CPR – a vital skill that can save lives during cardiac emergencies.
JIPMER, which is also the Regional Nodal Centre for Disaster Preparedness, organised public demonstrations and hands-on training sessions for the general public, patient attenders, teachers, homemakers, farmers, students, and staff on its campus. Several training stalls were set up across the campus to ensure wider participation. The JIPMER College of Nursing marked the occasion with a CPR pledge by 250 students and a quiz competition on CPR for undergraduate students.
