In Jharkhand, all arrangements have been completed for the second phase of polling tomorrow. Polling will be from 7 am to 5 pm. A total of 38 constituencies across 12 districts will go to polls in this phase.

In this phase, 528 candidates including 55 women are in the fray. Over one crore 23 lakh electorates will decide the political fate of these candidates.

Important candidates whose political fortune will be decided are Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto, State BJP President Babulal Marandi, Opposition leader Amarnath Kumar Bauri, AJSU President Sudesh Kumar Mahto and Kalpana Soren. Four Ministers Irfan Ansari, Hafizul Hasan, Deepika Pandey Singh and Bebi Devi are also in fray.

Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said live webcasting will be done to monitor polling process. A total of 14 thousand 218 polling booths have been set up across the state for smooth polling and out of these booths, seven thousand have been categorized as critical booths from the security point of view.

Six hundred companies of central paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to ensure trouble-free polls. This phase is crucial for both NDA and I.N.D.I.A bloc. In 2019 assembly elections, out of these 38 seats, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 13 seats, BJP secured 12, Congress won 8, and CPI ( ML) won one seat.
