Nor-Wester hit Tripura with thunderstorm  lightening, gusty winds accompanied by wrecking havoc in various parts of the state. While in many areas houses and dwellings were damaged ,in Agartala city several trees were uprooted on main roads bringing the normal triffic to a standstill for sometime.

The Nor-Wester began with full force since wee hours of Wednesday and heavy to moderate rains followed. The day broke with a cloudy dawn with intermittent drizzling to moderate rains splashing through out the day.

The Weathermen said, since there was large cloud mass noticed over Bangladesh it is likely that light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm  lightening, gusty winds very likely to continue over most parts of Khowai, West, Sepahijila Gomati, South districts and some parts of Dhalai district for next few hours. The wind velocity remained in between 40-50 kms per hour.

Sources said, Disaster Management is constantly watching the development and is in contact with all the districts.

Since there are chances of lightning people were asked to remain alert and avoied going out in the fields as far as possible.
