In Australia, around 120 troops from the Indian Army have arrived to participate in the 4th edition of Exercise AUSTRAHIND 2025 with the Australian Army from today. Indian High Commission in Canberra stated the exercise will strengthen defence cooperation and reinforce the spirit of collaboration and mutual trust.
The exercise will focus on joint company-level operations in open and semi-desert terrain. The troops will undertake missions like joint planning, tactical drills, and special arms skills. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held productive bilateral meetings last week with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Defence Minister Richard Marles to explore new avenues for strengthening defence cooperation between the two nations. Both countries are focusing on enhancing regional security and promoting a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific.
