India created Commonwealth Games history at Glasgow 2026 by winning a record seven boxing gold medals and three silver medals. Preeti, Jaismine, Sakshi, Priya, Arundhati, Sachin Siwach and Ankush Panghal led India’s most successful boxing campaign with 10 medals overall.

India delivered its greatest-ever performance in Commonwealth Games boxing by winning a record seven gold medals and three silver medals at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, marking the country’s most successful campaign in the history of the competition. The outstanding achievement surpassed India’s previous best and established a new benchmark for Indian boxing on the international stage.

The historic campaign saw Preeti (54kg), Jaismine (57kg), Sakshi (51kg), Priya (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), Sachin Siwach (60kg), and Ankush Panghal (80kg) emerge as Commonwealth Games champions after producing exceptional performances in their respective finals. Alongside the seven gold medals, Jadumani Singh (55kg), Lovlina Borgohain (75kg), and Narender (90+kg) secured silver medals, taking India’s total boxing medal tally to an impressive 10 medals.

This remarkable achievement eclipsed India’s previous best performance at the Commonwealth Games. During the 2022 Birmingham Games, India had secured seven boxing medals, including three gold, one silver, and three bronze. Although India had tied Northern Ireland for the highest total medal count in boxing during that edition, Northern Ireland topped the gold medal standings with five titles. Glasgow 2026, however, witnessed India dominate the competition by capturing an unprecedented seven gold medals.

Among the standout performances, Sachin Siwach clinched the men’s 60kg gold medal after edging Namibia’s Tryagain Morni Ndevelo in a thrilling final decided by a narrow 3-2 split verdict. The closely contested bout showcased Sachin’s determination and tactical discipline as he held his nerve to secure India’s sixth gold medal.

Arundhati Choudhary delivered a commanding display in the women’s 70kg final, defeating England’s Chantelle Reid through a unanimous decision. Her aggressive yet composed performance ensured another gold for India and highlighted the country’s growing strength in women’s boxing.

Priya added another title in the women’s 60kg category after defeating Canada’s Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh by a 4-1 split decision. The closely fought contest demonstrated Priya’s resilience and ability to maintain composure under pressure.

Sakshi completely dominated England’s Ruby White in the women’s 51kg final, registering a comprehensive 5-0 unanimous decision. Her superior footwork, accurate punching combinations, and disciplined defence allowed her to control every round of the contest.

Jaismine also impressed with a flawless performance in the women’s 57kg final, defeating Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh by a unanimous 5-0 verdict. She dictated the pace from the opening bell with clean combinations and excellent movement throughout the bout.

Preeti showcased one of the tournament’s most dominant performances in the women’s 54kg category, defeating Canada’s S.S. Delgado by a unanimous 5-0 decision. She won every round on all judges’ scorecards and even registered a knockdown, underlining her complete superiority inside the ring.

Ankush Panghal completed India’s golden campaign by defeating England’s D. Shittu in the men’s 80kg final through a convincing 4-1 decision, ensuring India’s seventh gold medal of the competition.
