Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh today said that biotechnology has reached every sector in the country, reflecting India’s potential of becoming a global biotech powerhouse. Dr Singh said this while launching the High Performance Biotechnology Platforms at an event in New Delhi, marking one year of Biotechnology for economy, environment and employment. The Minister said that the bio economy in the country has increased from just ten billion dollars in 2014 to over 165 billion dollars in 2024. He highlighted that the government is working towards a target of 300 billion dollars bioeconomy by 2030.
