India Clinches Silver After Narrow 2-1 Loss to Australia at Sultan of Johor Cup 2025

In Hockey, India won a silver medal after losing narrowly to Australia, 2-1 in the final of Sultan of Johor Cup 2025 in Malaysia yesterday. Australia’s Ian Grobbelaar opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but India’s Anmol Ekka struck back at 17th minute and leveled the match 1-1 at half-time. However, Ian Grobbelaar’s second goal at 59th minute made the difference. The result handed India their fifth runners-up finish at the tournament. India had won bronze medals in the previous two editions. Australia, on the other hand, finally broke their streak of three consecutive final losses, avenging their2022 defeat to India.
