Keeping in view the recent declaration of CBSE Class-XII and other Boards Senior Secondary Exam results the Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended date of admission in the Online and ODL (Distance) Programmmes of the University for the ongoing July 2022 Session up to 12. August 2022. Similarly re-registration dates for already enrolled students for second and third year has also been extended up to 12. August 2022. Dr. Mahato, Regional Director, IGNOU Agartala expressed that the admission date extension announcement is to facilitate a large m tuber of students who could not take admission in different programme of their choice within the earlier last date of 31. July 2022 due to non declaration of their class XII results and other reasons. IGNOU also offers fee exemption to the eligible SC/ST students in certain selected courses like BA(General),B.Com (General), B.Sc( General) and in some Diploma, Post Graduate Certificate and Certificate courses . This facility of extended admission date and fee exemption may be equally availed by the desirous and eligible students of Tripura to enroll themselves in the programme of their choice as per their eligibility by visiting https://hmouadmission.samarth.edu.in/

Recently IGNOU Regional Centre, Agartala conducted an online academic counselors meeting of Master of Arts (Education), Master of Business Administration. Master of Ans (Public Administration) and Master of Arts (Psychology) to discuss various aspects of the teaching learning process and improvement in the existing facilities and modalities which will help the students of above courses in smooth and hassle free completion of their courses. Agartala IGNOU Regional Director Dr. Arobindo Mahato in the meeting emphasized upon online counseling, suitable guidance to the learners in their dissertation work, timely conduct of project/ practical and viva-voce of the dissertation works and periodic contacts and assessment of the leamers as per ODL modalities of the University for Better Course Content Dissemination. In this line IGNOU Regional Centre, Agartala is conducting the Evaluation and viva-voce of Project Report and Dissertation work of students of MA(Psychology) and MA(Education) from 2′ to 8th August 2022 for the ongoing June 2022 Term-End Examination.

The University is conducting its June 2022 Term End Examination from July 22, 2022 to September 05, 2022 of its various academic programmes across the country and in international centres abroad. For students under Regional Centre Agartala the exams are being conducted in 7(seven) centers for 19,630 sittings at Tripura University, Govt Degree College, Dharmanagar, IASE Kunjaban, Ramakrishana Mahavidayala, Kailasharar, 1swar Chandra Vidyasagar College, Belonia, BHAVAN’s Tripura College of Teacher Education and Govt Degree College, Kamalpur. The examination activities at all the centres are strictly being monitored by the Regional Director and authorities at IGNOU HQ New Delhi.

A base line survey under the guidance of Dr. Mahato, Regional Director, IGNOU, Agartala was conducted on 30/07/2022 by student of MA(Rural Development) in Tujaniya Lunga Panchayat under Durgabari Tea Estate- a village adopted by IGNOU Regional Centre, Agartala under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.The village Pradhan Mrs Aparna Das extended her whole hearted support to the visiting team in completion of the survey. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method was adopted during the survey and has been a success with active participation of the villagers. The data collected during the survey will be compiled and assessed to understand the present status of the village followed by preparation of village development plan.
