The Haryana State Election Commission today announced general elections for seven municipal bodies and by-elections for 528 posts in the Panchayati Raj system. With this announcement, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the respective constituencies.
Announcing the election schedule during a press conference in Panchkula today, State Election Commissioner Devender Singh Kalyan said that municipal corporation elections would be held in Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat. Additionally, elections will take place for the Rewari Municipal Council; the Dharuhera, Sampla, and Uklana Municipalities; and the Tohana, Jhajjar, Rajound, Taraori, Sadhaura, and Kanina Municipalities. By-elections for Panchayati Raj institutions will also be conducted in select locations across the state. Polling will take place on 10th May, and the counting of votes will be conducted on the 13th of May.
