Since its inception in 1976 the Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) is rendering yeoman service for development of the rural economy of the state, said ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury as he inaugurated a blood donation camp in TGB premises in Agartala on Sunday.
“Development of a state depends on the development of the rural sector and for this the Grameen Bank was playing a key role in Tripura”, he said.
“It played a significant role in strengthening the socio-economic condition of the rural people” he added.
He was also all praise for the TGB’s initiative for voluntary blood donation saying that it was great event keeping in mind the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and observance of the upcoming 50th Statehood Day. Among other officers and staff TGB, Chairman Mahendra Mohan Goswami was also present in the programme.
