The state is committed to supporting entrepreneurs in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing the necessary resources and training to enhance their income and foster self-reliance. This was highlighted by Muhammad Sajad P, Director of Skill Development, at a certificate distribution ceremony held at the ‘Bodhan’ community hall in Bishalgarh.
The event, organized by the Society for Entrepreneurship Development (SoFED), celebrated the successful completion of a 10-day training program titled “Entrepreneurship Development Programme for SHG Women.” A total of 60 SHG members received certificates during the program.
“The department is prepared to assist entrepreneurs in utilizing their skills and products to become self-reliant. This aligns with our goal of empowering SHG members to achieve economic independence,” said Director Sajad.
Subhankar Deb, Program Coordinator at SoFED, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “These programs provide vital support to budding entrepreneurs by equipping them with the skills and knowledge to earn sustainably. Economic empowerment is critical in today’s competitive environment.”
Participants expressed their gratitude, noting that the training imparted valuable insights into entrepreneurship. Resource personnel from reputed organizations across Tripura conducted the sessions. which focused on equipping SHG members with the tools to develop successful business plans.
Key dignitaries at the event included Debashish Das, Member Secretary of SoFED; Badal Dey, Deputy Director of SoFED; and Sangita Shina Chakraborty, Nodal Officer for Skill Development in Sepahijala District.
This initiative demonstrates the government’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship, paving the way for self-reliant communities and a stronger local economy.
