In an ambitious endeavour the Biplab Deb government is planning for a road map of overall development and growth for the next 25 years .

While addressing the National Press Day programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan  on Tuesday, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said the cabinet had already come up for discussion.

“Our vision is not limited to only five years. We are thinking for the next 25 years till 2048 to build a prosperous Tripura for the young generation,” Deb said in the programme.

Deb said the action plan would include many aspects—one of the most important factors is that the state government would focus more on women empowerment through formation of new Self Help Groups and enhancing their activities.

He hinted that a target would be set to cover the women in every household under such Self Help Groups for their financial growth.

According to the Chief Minister, the Self Help Groups created a Rs. 1000-crore economy in a major boost to the state’s financial progress.
