
Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ratanlal Nath, affirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring comprehensive coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, a pivotal centrally sponsored scheme.
Addressing the media following a review meeting with officials of the Agriculture and Horticulture departments at the State Agriculture Research Station, A.D. Nagar, Nath underscored the paramount importance of inclusive agricultural development.
During the meeting, Minister Nath highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proactive stance by authorizing the disbursement of the 17th installment under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, marking a significant stride in bolstering the agricultural landscape. Prior to this latest installment, a commendable 2,52,907 farmers in the state had already reaped the benefits of this transformative scheme.
In discussions focused on enhancing productivity and refining quality standards, Minister Nath emphasized the pivotal role of robust agricultural and horticultural sectors in driving economic prosperity. Expressing optimism, he articulated that with diligent execution of plans, the state stands poised to surpass production targets, meeting and even surpassing demand, thereby significantly augmenting farmers’ income.
The review session also witnessed Director of Agriculture, Saradindu Das, Director of Horticulture, Phani Bhusan Jamatia, and other officials, including Superintendents of Agriculture, deliberating on strategies to expedite progress and achieve tangible outcomes.
