Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, Government of India General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh laid foundation stone of a new school building of Madhav Chandra Para in Mainama under Manu block of LongtharaiValley of Dhalai district today. Other dignitaries present in the programme were Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura, MLA Sambhu Lal Chakma, MDC of TTAADC Sanjoy Das and Dhalai District Magistrate & Collector Govekar Mayur Ratilal.

MoS of MoRTH General V. K. Singh as the Chief Guest in the programme spoke about various developmental activities taken up in different sectors such as road connectivity, infrastructure development in schools, health and educational institutions, particularly in rural areas. He said, the present government aims and prioritizes overall development of people living in remote areas with the help of the administration and with the cooperation of the citizens. He also informed that a project work of establishing a new Medical College in Dhalai district, Head Quarter is expected to commence soon.

MP Rebati Tripura said, development of a society or a nation, it is important to update courses and exercise better educational system for welfare of the students of rural areas. The programme was presided over by Madhab Chandra Higher Secondary School, SMC Chairman Bhujuranjan Chakma.

On the other hand, it was informed that the cost of constructing two-storied new school building on 820.75 square metre will be covered under RIDF (Rural Infrastructure Development Fund) in the present financial year. The estimated cost of the project is 8.67 crore rupees. The new building will have 22 classrooms, three science laboratories, two administrative blocks and a library.

Apart from that, MoS of MoRTH General V. K. Singh had visited and checked on the ongoing construction projects of NH-8 (A) from Manu to Sakhan Saimun. During his visit, the Minister of State had also interacted with the officials and workers of NHIDCL. The Minister of State along with other dignitaries then visited Manughat Community Health Centre to observe the present condition of the healthcare services.
