In a significant achievement for the state of Tripura, four artists from the region have been selected to participate in the prestigious National Art Exhibition conducted by the Lalit Kala Akademi. Out of a whopping 10,000 applications from all over the country, only 297 artists were chosen for the exhibition, with four artists from Tripura making the cut. The selected artists are Abhijit Majumder, Debjani Dutta, Siddhartha Shil, and Soumen Debnath.

Majumder also mentioned that the Lalit Kala Akademi will bear the expenses for the artists to attend the exhibition. The next stage of selection will involve choosing the top 20 artists out of the 297 selected ones, who will be given the National Award and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs each. The award ceremony will be graced by the presence of the President of India.
