Prompt police action leads to the arrest of altogether five persons including the main mastermind behind the fake currency circulation racket. On production in Court today, all the five accused persons had been remanded for three days.
Speaking on the issue, SDPO Teliamura Sona Charan Jamatia said, “On Saturday, police arrested two persons with fake notes from a local petrol pump. After interrogation, two more persons Bishwaram Debbarma and Sarbananda Jamatia were arrested. The arrested persons revealed that they used to work under the aegis of one Harendra Molsom who happens to be the main mastermind behind the whole fake currency nexus.
Molsom was arrested on Sunday morning and subsequently all the accused were produced before the Khowai district court. The Court considering the police’s prayer sent them for three days police remand”.
