Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology (CTVS and IR) department of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital have been successfully performing heart disease related surgeries in the state for a while.

After successful Open-Heart surgery and Bypass surgery, yet another surgery- Angioplasty surgery was successfully performed for the first time in the state. 55 years old Haradhan Sutradhar hailing from Udaipur got admitted in the hospital on January 29 due to chest pain. After going through Angiogram in CTVS and IR Cath Lab, heart artery blockage was found.

The surgery was performed by by Dr. Anindya Sundar Trivedi along with Consultant and In-charge Cardiac surgeon Dr. Kanak Narayan Bhattacharjee, Dr. Arup Deb, Dr. Surajit Pal, Cath Lab Technician Sanjay Ghosh, Cath Lab Nurse Prankrishna Deb, Debabrata Debnath, Anna Bahadur Jamatia, Sujan Sahu and other staffs.

The present condition of the patient is informed to be good and will be released in few days. This was informed in a press release issued by the Director of Health department.
