If the income of the farmers increases, the statewill develop and economy will grow automatically. Under the direction shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is giving priority to the welfare of the farmers of the state. The government is working on plans to accustom farmers to scientific farming. Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Pranajit Singha Roy said this while inaugurating the newly built rice warehouse with a capacity of 1,000 metric tons at Singicherra in Khowai Block yesterday. At the programme, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare also said that scientific farming has been given importance to double the income of farmers. Improved agricultural machinery is being provided to farmers at subsidized rates. After the inaugural ceremonyMinister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare launched the state’s first Agri Drone technology at Khowai Divyodaya Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Chebri. Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sharadindu Das and Senior Agricultural Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Manoj Singh Sachan were present on the occasion. At Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare advised farmers to use drone technology and to see how pesticides are spread on agricultural land. The Minister also interacted with farmers on advanced farming practices at Divyodaya Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
At the inauguralprogramme of rice warehouse in Singicherra, the Agriculture Minister said that the amount of Kisan credit card loans has been increased in the state to make the farmers self-reliant. Under the initiative of the present government, the farmers have received loans of about 1 thousand 386 crore rupees under Kisan Credit Card. Moreover, farmers are getting Rs 6,000 per year under the PM Kisan scheme. The government has also laid emphasis on marketing the crops produced by the farmers.

Chairman of Khowai Panchayat Samiti Tinku Bhattacharya presided over the programme. Deputy Director of District Agriculture and Farmers Welfare office Arvind Debbarma delivered the welcome address. 1 crore 25 lakh rupees has been spent on the construction of the newly built rice warehouse.
