In Gujarat, a massive fire broke out at a four-storey textile market in Surat this morning. Our correspondent reports that this is the second such fire broke out at the same building within twenty-four hours.
The fire teams and local police are still working to douse the fire but it is yet to be under control. Although no casualty has been reported, more than 800 textile shops have been affected. The exact cause of the fire is still not known. Preliminary investigation reports suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze.
A similar fire broke out in the building’s basement yesterday morning leading to the death of a worker.
