Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who is on a three-day tour of Tripura, today visited the Govt Industrial Training Institute-for women and reviewed facilities for skilling, education and training.
The Union Minister met the trainers and staff at the Institute in Indra Nagar here, who briefed him about their skilling efforts and the opportunities for entrepreneurship and jobs available in the region.
The ITI is being further strengthened by the Govt of India under the Model ITI Scheme.Ā A financial assistance of Rs 7.2 crores has been sanctioned by the Centre. āEmpowering women with skills & creating opportunities for jobs and Entrepreneurship is at core of PM Narendra Modiās AtmaNirbharBharat visionā said the MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar Ā during his interaction with the officials present.
As part of his other engagements, the Minister visited Ghilatali village in Kalyanpur, about 55 KMs from Agartala and interacted with the localsĀ and had lunch at tribal leader Himangsu Debbarmaās house in East Gilatali.
Later, he visited the newly constructed building of Community Health Centre at Kalyanpur, Khowai
He also met his BJP party leaders and workers at the party office in Kalyanpur along with Ā Amit Rakshit, Rajib Bhattacharjee and Ā Pinaki Das Chowdhury amongst others.
Ā Chandrasekhar will be returning to New Delhi tomorrow. But before that, he will be addressing a Tiranga Rally in Hawaibari village, Teliamura and hold interactions with students, entrepreneurs and the general public.
