Droupadi Murmu who filed nomination for the President’s position as NDA candidate would  visit Tripura and other parts of the North East region on July 5 next to meet the legislators. Her visit was decided in a meeting by the BJP top leaders and North East Chief Ministers in Hyderabad where party’s National Executive meet was being held.

Earlier when Pranab Mukherjee was Presidential candidate he had also come here to meet the Tripura legislators.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha who attended the meeting in Hyderabad said in his social media platform that, “On July 5, Bharatiya Janata Party nominated presidential candidate Mrs. Draupadi Murmu Ji will visit Tripura. Today ( Sunday) the planning to this end was fixed after an important organizational meeting was held with the Chief Ministers of the North Eastern States and Organizational Maha Mantri of the NER in presence of All India General Secretary Binod Taure ji, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and National Spokesperson Shri Sambit Patra, an important organizational meeting was held”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who attended the BJP NEC meet also was all praise for Murmu and maintained that her candidature stands over and above any politics. 

Modi asked party cadre to highlight the struggle and simplicity of Murmu’s life among people.

The Chief Minister along with former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik and MP Rebati Tripura attended the BJP’s two-day National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Hyderabad.

In the meeting Chief Minister presented organizational report while Deb travelled various parts of Hyderabad to attend party activities.
