In a groundbreaking initiative, the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilisers Corporation Limited (BVFCL), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in Tripura, has launched a transformative demonstration of Kisan drones during the Vibrant Bharat-Seed-Growing Youth (VBSY) campaign held in Mandwai.

This innovative endeavour introduces the cutting-edge nano urea technology deployed through drones, marking a significant turning point in the agricultural landscape. Aligned with the eco-friendly principles of the PM PRANAM scheme, this initiative aims to ensure a safe and sustainable future while preserving soil health.

Nano urea, acting as a biofertilizer, distinguishes itself by establishing a harmonious relationship with the environment. The recent demonstration showcased its remarkable effectiveness and durability when applied via drones, presenting farmers with an efficient alternative to manual labour, said an official involved in the project. “Astonishingly, vast acres of farmland can now be covered in a matter of minutes, streamlining the farming process and significantly increasing productivity”, he added.

The official pointed out that in the northeastern states, including Tripura, where agriculture plays a pivotal role in the economy, the local community had expressed profound interest in embracing this transformative technology. Farmers were found particularly enthused by the prospect of efficient and eco-friendly practices, showing a willingness to adopt these advancements that align with the region’s unique agricultural needs.

“The integration of drone technology and nano urea stand poised to propel the region towards a more sustainable and productive agricultural future. The success of this initiative not only marked a triumph for the farmers but also signified a crucial step forward in embracing technological innovations for a greener and more prosperous tomorrow”, officials maintained.
