In a recent visit, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inspected the site of the proposed high-rise administrative building at Gurkhabasti, expressing optimism that the project would take its final shape within the next two to two and a half years. During his inspection, he emphasized the importance of maintaining construction quality and adhering to the stipulated timeline.

The Chief Minister’s tour also included visits to several key facilities, such as the Muktadhara Auditorium, Nazrul Kalakshetra, Tripura State Forensic Science Laboratory, and Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT). Additionally, he inspected the site of a multi-storied office building (B+G+14) at various locations.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saha noted certain issues at some of the facilities and instructed the relevant officials to address them promptly. He also emphasized the need for proper maintenance.

“At Muktadhara Auditorium, I identified some issues and directed officials to promptly address maintenance concerns and undertake necessary renovation works. Subsequently, I visited Nazrul Kalakshetra and instructed officials to address any problems in the building,” said Dr. Saha.

During his visit to Nazrul Kalakshetra, the Chief Minister inspected prestigious institutions, including the North Eastern Regional Centre of Lalit Kala Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi, National School of Drama, and Tripura Film and Television Institute. He engaged with students during his visit to the Film and Television Institute, where students expressed a desire for longer-term courses. Dr. Saha assured them that he would take up the matter with the relevant authorities.

“I am pleased to see that students are enthusiastically participating in their classes. They have also expressed a desire for longer courses,” Dr. Saha stated to reporters.

The Chief Minister further inspected the existing infrastructure at the Forensic Laboratory and TIT. He explained, “Since 50 percent of the previous building was allocated to the Law University, we are now constructing a new building. Later, I visited the Tripura State Forensic Science Laboratory and experienced the importance of this establishment. I got to know how officials are combating crimes related to NDPS, POCSO, and handling the identification of arms and fake currencies.”

Regarding the high-rise administrative building, Dr. Saha expressed his optimism, saying, “This facility will house all offices under one roof. I am hopeful that the project will be completed within the next two or two and a half years.”

He also highlighted the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to development works and reiterated that the state government is aligned with the same goal of fostering progress and development in the region.
