Diya Bati a unique project launched by the District Magistrate of Sepahijala district Vishawsree B got a fillip when Alpha Geo (India) Ltd as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) provided 10 children Tablets for online studies.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma handed over the tablets to the students a on Wednesday.
The tablets would help the kids continue the learning process in this Covid pandemic.
Diya Bati, an innovative scheme to support one vulnerable child by one government officer, was launched in Sepahijala district last year by the incumbent District Magistrate.
The project aims at protecting the vulnerable children and providing them new opportunities for growth and development. The program is designed to support the vulnerable child in both socio-economic and psychological ways.
Impressed by the initiative of the Sepahijala district administration, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he would hold discussion to launch the same project in other districts also.
Sepahijala Zilla Sabhadhipati- Supriya Das Dutta, District Magistrate Vishwasree B, Superintendent of Police Rati Ranjan Debnath, District Social Welfare and Social Education officer- Dr. Chandrani Biswas and others were present in the programme.
