Reports reaching Agartala suggested dengue cases being detected in large number in Gomati district during the past few days especially at Atharabhola and Killa in Udaipur sub-division. Unofficial report said there were as many as 76 dengue cases in Gomati district.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Gomati district- Nirumohan Jamatia while talking to the reporters confirmed the presence of dengue cases in the district. He said that various measures were being taken to raise mass awareness.
As many as 44 dengue patients were detected under Killa PHC over the last few days—among them, 28 patients were already discharged from the hospital, three patients were referred to GBP hospital and another six patients were referred to Gomati district hospital.
The number of dengue patients detected under Atharabhola PHC is 31 and one case was reported from Bampur in Amarpur sub-division.
Meanwhile, two Tipra Motha leaders- Alok Kumar Jamatia and Jyotish Jamatia on Tuesday visited Atharabhola and Killa PHCs and expressed strong resentment over the healthcare services.
Earlier, at least 52 dengue cases were reported in Kumarghat sub-division in the last week of October. However, the situation had improved following the measures taken by the Health department.
