Death of a youth in police custody at Sonamura sparked tension.
The youth Jamal Hussain of Bolardefa under Sonamura police station was arrested on Tuesday night under NDPS act. He was held in police custody where he died.Police said Jamal died of a massive cardiac arrest. His body was kept in Sonamura hospital for post mortem.
Jamal’s family however alleged that Jamal died due to police torture in the custody and demanded investigation by impartial entity and punishment of the policemen involved. Police on the other hand denied the allegations and said, it was a case of fatal heart attack and there was no police torture at all.
Senir police officials visited the police station.
