Unity is the main strength of the society. Festivals, history, culture and heritage play a vital role in building Unity in Diversity, enunciated Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma after inaugurating Garia Festival at Vivekananda Maidan organized by Pantwi Sporting Society and Ragini Hukumu Bodol in association with Information & Cultural Affairs department yesterday. He also said, Pantwi Sporting Society has been working to keep the young generation away from addiction through sports and culture. Addiction destroys the society. He said, unity is primely important to strengthen the society. He called on everyone to take the society forward through sports, culture and education.

Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia in the programme said, Garia is a universal festival. Everyone’s participation has served the purpose of the festival. Welcome speech was delivered by Secretary of Pantwi Sporting Society Chira Kumar Debbarma. The event was presided over by President of Pantwi Sporting Society Subhash Debbarma. Traditional Food Festival and cultural event was organized on the occasion.
