Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Sunday expressed confidence of gaining ground in 2023 general assembly election. All India Congress Committee Training In-charge Sachin Rao claimed the party would be adequately strengthened to contest the ensuing poll.
On the last day of the state level training camp of the Congres organised for the party leaders, Rao addressed a press conference at the party office on Sunday and said that through these training programmes, the workers and leaders were trained in party ideology, policies, expectation of a Congress worker, grassroots messaging, election managements, failures of present government and countering propaganda.
“The party is putting an utmost effort to strengthen the organisation and get it ready to gain ground in 2023 election in Tripura,” said Rao. For this he stressed that the party needed to be strengthened from the grass root level.
Pradesh Congress President Birajit Sinha on Sunday agreed on the party’s failure with the leaders quitting the party and said, “Congress is the only alternative to the BJP government’s misrule across the nation. And the leaders who had quit the party are now realising that it is only the Congress party where democracy exists.”
“Just because the Congress is existing, the country still exists otherwise the country would have been divided,” Sinha claimed.
He claimed, “Although the CPIM is the main opposition to the BJP in Tripura, but Congress scored the second position and we believe that the party will be strengthened enough to contest the ensuing 2023 election and gain ground.”
He said, “the communal violence that took place in neighbouring Bangladesh and which had repercussions in the state, especially in Kailasahar of Unakoti district was stopped because of the Congress’ intervention and protest. The BJP government had failed to control the violence.”
