Rubber plays an important role in the development of the rural economy of the state. Commercialization of the rubber industry in the state is one of the priority areas of the present government. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the third unit of Abhisar Buildwell Pvt. Ltd. Rubber Thread Plant belonging to D.S Group at Bodhjung Nagar Industrial Complex yesterday. At the programme, the Chief Minister said that after the establishment of the BJP-IPFT government in the state, new industries are being established in the state. It creates employment and income opportunities. The present government’s promise was to create employment opportunities for the youth. The government is keeping its promises.
Inaugurating the plant, the Chief Minister said that as a result of setting up such a factory, employment opportunities are being created for the local people and the industrialists are also benefiting financially. There was no such environment before. In the name of agitation, various factories were closed. Now the situation has changed. As a result, both the workers and the owners are benefiting. The Chief Minister informed that Rs 21 crore have been spent on setting up this plant. This rubber thread will mainly be exported to Bangladesh. The Chief Minister urged the industrialists present on the occasion to set up more factories in the state. The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to develop suitable infrastructure for setting up industries. The communication system in the state has improved a lot. Road, rail and air communication systems are much better than before. He also highlighted Maitri-Setu Bridge in Sabroom. He expressed hope that it will be possible to build Ek Tripura, Shreshtha Tripura with combined efforts of all.
Special guest, MLA Ratan Chakraborty urged the industrialists to come forward to set up industries in the state. Moreover, Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Nabadal Banik, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Arif Mohammad, Special Secretary of Industries Department Abhishek Chandra also spoke on the occasion.
