A mega rubber plantation drive has been undertaken for next 5 years under Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission. The mission has been initiated with Input subsidy method out of two models of implementation (Credit linked and Input subsidy method) in convergence with MGNREGA with an aim to produce more good quality rubber in the state and bring more income opportunities to local rubber growers. Rubber plantation has been completed on 2365.83 Ha of land as on October 29. The implementing agencies for this mission in Tripura are TTAADC, Rubber Board, TFDPC Ltd, TRPC Ltd, Tribal Welfare & TRP and PTG Department, Government of Tripura. Good quality rubber could be yielded by rain guarding, using the right amount of fertilizer, increase the water holding capacity, following the correct tapping procedure and re-plantation activities in the existing plantation area. A review meeting to review status and representatives of different implementing agencies plantation under Chief Minister’s Rubber Mission in Tripura was held under the Chairmanship of Dr. K. N. Raghavan, IRS, Executive Director, Rubber Board in presence of the Secretary of Tribal Welfare Department on  October 29 at State Guest House.
