CMs across India extended birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, highlighting his 25 years of public service, governance, development and nation-building. The BJP also launched the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark the milestone.
Chief Ministers from several states on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, highlighting his long public life and describing his political journey in terms of public service, governance, development and nation-building.
The birthday celebrations coincide with a significant milestone in Modi’s public career. According to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s announcement, October 7, 2026, will mark 25 years since Modi first became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. The BJP has planned a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark the occasion.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to Modi and linked the Prime Minister’s 25 years in public life with service, good governance and nation-building. Yogi said Modi had sought to make public service central to his political journey and described his birthday as an occasion to launch service-oriented activities.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being launched from Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency associated with the Prime Minister. The programme is intended to highlight themes of service, self-reliance, development and public welfare.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also conveyed birthday wishes to Modi, highlighting what she described as his guidance and support for the national capital. She said Delhi was witnessing changes in facilities, opportunities and development and linked these developments to the aspirations of its residents.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also greeted the Prime Minister and referred to his focus on youth, farmers and economically weaker sections. Dhami highlighted Modi’s public service and his contribution to India’s standing on the global stage.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari extended birthday greetings as well, citing Modi’s leadership, public service and contribution to nation-building. He referred to development, self-reliance and India’s progress while wishing the Prime Minister good health and a long life.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recalled Modi’s journey from Vadnagar to the office of Prime Minister. Patel described the 25-year period of Modi’s service as a people’s representative as a period associated with governance, public welfare and development. He also referred to the themes of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’, digital development, modern infrastructure and defence self-reliance.
Patel further highlighted the government’s focus on poorer sections, youth, farmers and women and connected these priorities with the broader objective of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also extended birthday greetings, highlighting Modi’s emphasis on public service and national development. Yadav referred to the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India and his emphasis on strengthening India’s self-confidence.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also marked the occasion by recalling Modi’s 25 years as head of a government, first in Gujarat and subsequently at the national level. Sarma highlighted welfare, social justice, infrastructure development and national security as important themes associated with Modi’s public life. He also referred to the emphasis placed on Assam’s development since 2014.
The BJP’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being organised as a nationwide month-long programme. The party has said that the campaign will focus on taking the message of public service to different sections of society and highlighting Modi’s 25-year public journey through activities centred on service, development and nation-building.
The September 17 launch also coincides with other government and public-service initiatives. The Centre’s Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign is scheduled from September 17 to October 17, with the theme ‘Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat’. The government has said the campaign will emphasise citizen participation, cleanliness drives and local-level implementation.
Across the states, birthday programmes and public outreach activities are being organised to mark Modi’s 76th birthday. In Gujarat, celebrations include public programmes and service-oriented initiatives, while BJP-led activities in different regions are being linked to the broader Seva Sankalp theme.

The birthday observance therefore coincides with a broader focus on Modi’s 25-year journey in public office.
