Dr Manik Saha in his first visit as the Chief Minister went to meet the family members of slain party worker Mihir Das in Dhalai on Tuesday.

A Yuva Morcha leader Das was killed when a gang of miscreants attacked him at Bichitra Das Para in Manughat of Manu block under Dhalai district on May 14 last. In the attack four others Gopal Banik, Sujit Banik, Gopal Dev and Bimal Debbarma were also injured.

Dr Saha expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family and assured that the killers would be brought to book. He  handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh to Arpita Das, the wife of slain leader

While speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said that orders had already been given to the police to find and arrest the miscreants.

He visited and enquired about the present health condition of Gopal Banik and Sujit Banik who were injured during the incident.

Others present along with the Chief Minister during his visit were Member of Parliament Rebati Tripura, MLA Parimal Debbarma, MLA Sambhulal Chakma, MDC Hangsa Kumar Tripura, MDC Sanjoy Das and Additional District Magistrate of Dhalai district Moslem Uddin Ahmed.
