Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Saturday that Reliance Jio has expressed keen interest in investing in the state’s Information Technology (IT) sector. This comes after a team from Reliance Jio met with the CM to discuss investment prospects.
The initiative follows Saha’s recent meetings with Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai and at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati. Saha had urged Ambani to support his vision for a “Viksit Tripura.”
“In line with his guidance, a team led by Reliance Jio’s North Eastern Zone Business Head visited Tripura to explore investment opportunities in IT, data centers, natural gas exploration, fertilizer production, petroleum, ethanol production from bamboo, rubberwood furniture, agro-food processing, and tourism,” Saha shared in a Facebook post.
Highlighting the enthusiasm for the IT sector, the Chief Minister expressed optimism about potential collaborations with Reliance Jio and other investors. He also noted that major business leaders, including Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, have shown interest in Tripura’s growth.
The state government recently signed 87 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹3,700 crore in its latest business summit, marking a significant step toward economic development.
