Dr. Saha was accompanied by key members of his cabinet and political leaders, including Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Minister Kishore Barman, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, Zilla Sabhadhipati Debol Debroy, and MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumdar. The delegation jointly inspected the newly built facilities within the temple complex and reviewed security, logistics, and visitor management systems to ensure a smooth and dignified ceremony when the Prime Minister arrives.

Inspection of Temple and Helipad Facilities

In addition to inspecting the temple premises, the team also visited the Palatana OTPC helipad, which is expected to be a critical point during the Prime Minister’s arrival. Officials assessed the landing arrangements, crowd control measures, and coordination with security agencies to ensure flawless execution of the high-profile event.

Speaking to the media after the review, Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of the project.

“The newly developed infrastructure within the temple premises represents a harmonious blend of spirituality and modern amenities. It will greatly enhance the experience of devotees visiting the sacred Tripura Sundari Temple,” said Dr. Saha.

He further noted that the temple’s redevelopment would not only benefit pilgrims but also strengthen Tripura’s standing in heritage and religious tourism.

A Historic Moment for Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit has generated great enthusiasm among the people of Tripura. The inauguration of the redeveloped Tripura Sundari Temple, considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hindu tradition, is expected to mark a milestone in the state’s efforts to showcase its rich cultural heritage.

Local leaders echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments. Rajib Bhattacharjee, MP and state BJP president, remarked that the entire state is preparing for a historic and joyous occasion.

“On September 22, we are ready to welcome our Hon’ble Prime Minister with pride and devotion. The PRASAD project has transformed the temple premises, blending tradition with modern facilities. Every detail is being carefully reviewed to ensure the program’s success,” Bhattacharjee said.

Minister Kishore Barman highlighted the spiritual vibrancy of the redeveloped site.

“The Tripura Sundari Temple has been decorated in a new style and form. Prime Minister Modi, one of the world’s most respected leaders, will be inaugurating this project, making it a moment of immense pride for all Tripuris,” he stated.

Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also inspected the Palatana OTPC helipad with the Chief Minister and other officials. He confirmed that all necessary steps are being taken to guarantee security and convenience for the Prime Minister’s arrival.

PRASAD Scheme’s Role in Temple Redevelopment

The PRASAD scheme, launched by the Government of India, focuses on the integrated development of pilgrimage sites to provide improved amenities for pilgrims and to promote spiritual tourism. The redevelopment at Tripura Sundari Temple includes upgraded pathways, rest areas, lighting, landscaping, and other modern facilities while preserving the sanctity of the site.

For centuries, the temple—also popularly known as Maa Tripureshwari Temple—has been one of the most revered spiritual destinations in the Northeast. The beautification and infrastructure upgrades are expected to attract more devotees, strengthen cultural pride, and contribute to the state’s tourism economy.

People’s Excitement Builds

As the date draws closer, an air of excitement is sweeping across Tripura. Residents are eagerly waiting to witness the Prime Minister’s presence at the sacred temple and the formal unveiling of the redeveloped premises.
