Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is leading the preparations to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Tripura visit and held a high level review meeting in the secretariat on Sunday before visiting the  Swami Vivekananda ground, the venue of the PM’ public rally along with senior civil and administrative officials.

The Prime Minister will be coming to Tripura on Tuesday at around 1 pm from Manipur. Soon after landing in Agartala he will inaugurate the new MBB Airport building.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, “Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 22 developmental projects worth over Rs 4,800 crore in Imphal. Thereafter in Agartala, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new integrated terminal building at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport and will also launch two key development initiatives. The two other initiatives are Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana and Project Mission 100 of Vidyajyoti Schools.

Even as the Civil and police administrations along with all other departments leaving no stone unturned to make the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Agartala a grand success politically also ruling BJP has geared up its machinery to ensure impressive crowd in all the venues..

 Speaking to the media, Deb said the Prime Minister would first inaugurate the new terminal building of Maharaja Bir Bikram international Airport. The Prime Minister would then reach Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where he is scheduled to launch two projects- Vidyajyoti Schools under Mission 100 Scheme and Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana apart from interaction with the beneficiaries of various central schemes.

New Integrated Terminal Building of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, built at a cost of about Rs 450 crore, is a state of art building spread over 30,000 square metres having modern facilities and supported by the latest IT network integrated system. Project Mission 100 of Vidyajyoti Schools is aimed to improve the quality of education in the state by converting 100 existing High/Higher secondary schools to Vidyajyoti Schools with state of art facilities and quality education.
Mukhyamantri Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana aims to achieve the benchmark standards for service delivery in core development sectors at the village level.

Before his visit to the venue, the Chief Minister chaired a meeting along with Union Minister for State for Social Justice and Empowerment- Pratima Bhowmik at the civil secretariat. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, Education minister Ratanlal Nath, ICA Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy, Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, BJP state president Dr. Manik Saha and many other officials were present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister passed an instruction to the line departments to work in coordination for making the rally successful. He asked the authority concerned for the arrangement of drinking water inside the ground.

The Chief Minister also stressed on deployment of sufficient volunteers to maintain discipline during the Prime Minister’s rally.

Deb asked the Transport department to make necessary arrangements for transporting the people from the railway station to the venue. He also instructed the department for setting up proper parking zones.

 In the meeting, the Chief Minister also laid importance on inviting eminent personalities in various fields like- literature and sports.

During his visit to the rally ground the Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, DGP V S Yadav, Secretary Kiran Gitte, DM West D Bardhan, SP Manik Das, BJP President Dr Manik Saha, TIDC chairman Tinku Roy and others.
