In an attempt to reach out to the grass root level with government’s welfare schemes Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has embarked on a novel initiative – meeting middle and field level officials personally and interacting with them. The meetings are meant to discuss in a free and frank manner relating to the extension of administrative good to the last man standing in the farthest corner of the state. In fact, to make the meeting with the officials more free flowing and open bereft of stiff-neck ‘representations and reportings’ the meetings are expected to be held at Chief Minister’s residence instead of office.
The idea has actually been drawn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s similar steps at national level.
At the first go the Chief Minister on Monday held a five hours long meeting with TCS officers belonging to the ST communities in his residence. The officers were asked to share their ideas and also the problems for reaching out to the people with the welfare schemes and the officers too indeed opened up. It was an interaction that dwelt extensively on people’s concern, potential, , aspiration and possibilities as well as bureaucratic hindrances that would often come along and cause delay in implementing the schemes.
Later, the Chief Minister tweeted: “Had a meeting with a group of TCS officers at my residence today. We discussed in details about the strategies pertaining to holistic development of Tripura and making Tripura a model state as envisioned by hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji.”
Sources said the Chief Minister would soon also meet in a similar way with other officials belonging to SC and OBC communities.
