Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who is presently in Delhi took note of Wednesday’s violence in details from the civil and police administration. He also asked the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to bring the situation under full control forthwith.
In the meantime, Union minister Pratima Bhoumik and ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury visited Pratibadi Kalam newspaper office. They had detailed talks with newspaper’s editor Anal Roy Choudhury.
“Tripura government is committed to protect the media freedom in the state. I shall look into the matter and take necessary actions”, said Chowdhury after visiting the newspaper office.
In the meantime, several media bodies condemned the attack on newspaper. A team of journalists also met SDPO Ramesh Yadav on deputation and demanded arrest of the culprits within 12 hours.
