Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized that the health safety of the young generation is a top priority for the government, as today’s children and teenagers are the future of the country.

On Thursday Dr. Saha said this during the launch of the state-level Mukhyamantri Sustho Saishob, Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan 6.0 & Adult BCG Vaccination Study at Bishalgarh New Town Hall in Sepahijala district.

Under MSSSKA 6.0, a total of 11.36 lakh children & adolescents (0 to 19 years) in the state will be covered.

“Today’s children and teenagers are the future of the country. Therefore, to ensure their health and strength, the Mukhyamantri Sustho Saishob, Sustho Kaishore Abhiyan has been launched in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also prioritized the health and strength of children and adolescents, and the state government is working in line with the Prime Minister’s guidance,” said Dr. Saha.

He also announced the commencement of BCG (anti-tuberculosis) vaccination for adults in the state.

“The development of healthy and advanced human resources is a priority for the present government in the overall development of the state. With this aim, various plans have been initiated to improve the health infrastructure and provide better health services to marginalized towns. Health issues such as worm infections, vitamin-A deficiency, childhood diarrhea, lack of iron, and folic acid are concerning. This campaign is a crucial step in addressing anemia and promoting the physical and mental development of children and adolescents,” he added.

Dr. Saha highlighted that as part of this campaign, preventive tablets and vaccines will be administered to children and adolescents aged 0 to 19 years. Approximately 11.36 lakh individuals in the state will be included in this initiative.

The campaign was initiated in 2021 and has seen considerable success in the activities of the state’s health department since its inception. Dr. Saha emphasized the department’s need to prioritize efforts for achieving 100 percent success in this campaign.
