Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb has raised demand in the Parliament to speed up the implementation of four ropeways proposed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for tourism development in Tripura.
He pointed out that a Memorandum of Understanding between National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited had been signed in November 2022 that aimed at constructing ropeways from Udaipur railway station to Matabari, Maharani to Chabimura, Surmacherra, and Jampui hills.
Despite over a year passing, construction hasn’t commenced, hindering tourism growth.
Deb called for prompt action, stressing its significance for Tripura’s tourism and local connectivity.
The Union Minister and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways was urged to expedite the project.
