Left Front , especially CPM, seems to have embarked upon a relentless agitation programmes as its attempt to reconsolidate position keeping in mind the ensuing assembly elections.
In one more CITU organized rally, Opposition leader and Politburo member Manik Sarkar came down heavily on the BJP and said the state government, in Tripura and also in the Centre, have announced ‘war’ against the poor people irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
The CITU rally on Tuesday was organized as part of submitting a deputation to the labour inspector by CITU leaders in support of 10-point demand.
The party held a rally in Agartala in support of the charter of demands.
The demand list included hiking the wages of the labourers and implementation of declared wages, reinstating the sacked labourers, housing facilities for homeless labourers etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Manik Sarkar slammed the BJP-led Central and State Governments for ‘favouring’ the capitalists and depriving the people belonging to financial weaker positions.
“Several top Industrialists fled away from the country after looting public money. But the BJP-led Central remained ineffective in recovering the looted money”, Sarkar alleged.
Former MP Sankar Prasad Datta, former Minister Manik Dey and other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
Our Gandachhera correspondent adds: Along with the whole State, the CITU unit of Gandachhera sub-division held a rally in support of the 10-point demand list and submitted a deputation to the Labour Inspector.
During the submission of deputation, CITU sub-divisional secretary Sushanta Hazari, CPM Gandachhera sub-division secretary Dhananjoy Tripura and former MLA Lalit Tripura and other leaders were present in the deputation.
Besides, similar rallies by CITU members in support of 10-point demand were held at Dharmanagar, Panisagar, Amarpur and other areas.
