 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he paid floral tributes to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and former RSS chief M.S. Golwalkar.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat accompanied PM Modi during the visit, marking the first time a sitting Prime Minister has visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. Upon his arrival at the Nagpur airport, he was received by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

As part of his itinerary, PM Modi will visit Deekshabhoomi before laying the foundation stone for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an advanced eye care facility that will house 250 beds, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres.

Additionally, he will tour Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited’s ammunition facility, where he will inaugurate a loitering munition testing range and an airstrip for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

In a post on social media platform X on Saturday, PM Modi announced his visit to Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh to take part in various developmental programs.

Later in the day, he will travel to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where he will launch and dedicate infrastructure projects worth over ₹33,700 crore, spanning power, oil and gas, railways, roads, education, and housing.

Key initiatives include the foundation stone laying of NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (₹9,790 crore) and Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company’s first Super Critical Thermal Power Project (₹15,800 crore). He will also inaugurate three POWERGRID transmission projects worth ₹560 crore and launch energy initiatives, including BPCL’s City Gas Distribution project and HPCL’s Visakh-Raipur Pipeline Project (₹2,210 crore).

Railway and road projects are also on the agenda, with the launch of seven railway projects (108 km) and the dedication of three completed projects (111 km). PM Modi will flag off a MEMU train in the Abhanpur-Raipur section.

Focusing on education, he will inaugurate 130 PM SHRI Schools and a Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur. Additionally, he will distribute house keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin.

PM Modi’s visit highlights the government’s commitment to infrastructure growth and social welfare.
