Tension erupts at Charilam Ananda Marga School after alleged unauthorized entry by former officials disrupts classes, sparks arguments, draws police intervention, and triggers guardian outrage over school discipline and student safety concerns.
Tension prevailed at Charilam Ananda Marga School on Saturday after an alleged unauthorized entry by a group linked to the former school administration disrupted academic activities and triggered concern among teachers, students, and guardians.
According to teachers and local sources, the group, led by Bishalgarh Ananda Marga School chairman Nanigopal Debnath and recently removed in-charge Rakesh Sarkar, entered the school premises at around 11 am during regular class hours. The entry was reportedly made without prior permission from the school authorities.
Teachers alleged that members of the group verbally abused staff and questioned the recent administrative decision to remove Rakesh Sarkar from the post of in-charge. Sarkar was reportedly removed on Friday by officials of the Ananda Marga organization following allegations of financial irregularities. After his removal, senior teacher Kaushik Acharya was formally appointed as the new in-charge of the institution.
Eyewitnesses said the situation quickly escalated as arguments broke out between the visiting group and the teaching staff. The disturbance created panic among students, who were attending classes at the time. Several teachers attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the confrontation continued for some time.
Hearing the commotion, local residents, guardians, and nearby market vendors rushed to the school premises. Many expressed shock and anger over the disruption of a learning environment. Guardians strongly criticized the incident, stating that any form of administrative dispute should be resolved through proper channels rather than being brought into a school during class hours.
“The school is a place for education, not confrontation. Creating chaos in front of children is completely unacceptable,” said one concerned guardian present at the scene.
Police personnel from Bishalgarh police station arrived shortly after being informed of the situation. The police intervened to restore order and prevent further escalation. Officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control, and normalcy was gradually restored on the campus.
Local sources indicated that the incident has raised serious questions about governance, accountability, and discipline within educational institutions. Many residents have demanded strict action to ensure that schools remain safe and disturbance-free zones for students.
