The Union government has approved Rs 40 crore in advance for the flood hit Tripura. The fund will come from the central share of the SDRF.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inhis social media handle said, the financial assistance will be utilised for providing relief to the affected families.

Sha said, centre has already pressed into action 11 teams of NDRF, three columns of Army and four IAF helicopters ( MI 17) to assist the state government in rescue and relief operations.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Dr Manik Sarkar inspected the flood-affected areas in the Gomati and South Districts of Tripura.

This morning, Dr. Saha boarded an MI-17 helicopter at MBB Airport to head to Gomati District and South Tripura for inspecting the flood-hit regions. 

During his visit, Dr. Saha said that the state government is committed to providing aid and support to those in need. 

Later, he said, “Today, I visited the flood-affected areas of Udaipur in the Gomati district, which have been severely damaged due to heavy rains. Large areas are flooded, leaving many citizens homeless and staying in various relief camps.”

Dr. Saha also inspected the relief camps at Khilpara Higher Secondary School and Khilpara Market Shed to review the management of the camps.
