Must Read

Campaigning for the first phase of Assembly election in West Bengal ends this evening. On the final day, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah addressed a massive rally in Kulti, West Bardhaman. Mr Shah launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress, alleging widespread corruption and lawlessness under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government. He claimed women are unsafe in the state, pointing to repeated incidents of violence against them, and said the Chief Minister should be ashamed of such failures.
The Home Minister further accused the state government of selling jobs for money, allowing illegal mining, and engaging in unlawful smuggling. He promised that if the BJP comes to power, good governance will be ensured, a Uniform Civil Code will be implemented, and one lakh jobs will be created every year. Shah also assured that no welfare schemes would be discontinued.
In a stern warning, he declared that after the vote count, if the BJP forms the government, corrupt leaders will be sent to jail.
BJP leader Rekha Gupta joined a road show in Asansol.
On the other hand, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Haldia and accused BJP of false promises. Congress, Left and other parties are also canvassing in support of party candidates across the state.
