BWF World Junior Individual Championships 2025 Kick Off in Guwahati Today

In Badminton, the BWF World Junior Individual Championship 2025 is set to begin at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati, Assam, today. This will be the second time that India will be hosting the BWF World Junior Championships after 2008. 
 
 
India’s top-seed Tanvi Sharma, Unnati Hooda, and Rakshitha Ramraj have all received byes in the opening round. In the boys’ singles, 11th seed Rounak Chouhan and 15th-seeded Suryaksh Rawat have also received first-round byes. Meanwhile, Indian pairs of Bhavya Chhabra and Vishakha Toppo, and Lalramsanga C and Taarini Suri will lead India’s challenge in the mixed doubles category.
 
 
Like the Mixed Team Championships, which concluded on Saturday, the 25th edition of the individual championships will also witness a scoring innovation. Sunday was a rest day between the team and individual championships, with the participants getting a glimpse of Assamese culture. A variety of Assamese performances were showcased, and awards for the best team cheer were also announced. Norway were declared the winner.
