The spectacular victory of the BJP in four states, especially Uttar Pradesh has not only bolstered the morale of the ruling party workers of the state which will go to polls exactly one year later, but also served a severe blow to the opposition parties- especially Congress. The Congress was expecting a great fillip in Tripura in case of opposition win in UP. The Trinamool Congress hope was also brutally nipped in the bud with Mamata Banerjiee’s high ambition for the PM position with pan India footfalls ended in a whimper.
“We have taken development plan up to 2047, today’s poll results only strengthened our hope that in 2047 we would be here to see our plans coming to fruitation”, said a senior BJP leader of the state.
In the meantime the party footsoldiers as well as leaders are celebrating the party victories with colours, crackers and sweets.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb hailed the impressive show of Bharatiya Janata Party in the assembly elections of four states.
The Chief Minister greeted the people of the four states- Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur for keeping their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and giving their mandate in favour of BJP. He also congratulated the Chief Ministers of the four states.
Speaking to the media, De said, “The results reflected that the countrymen want a New India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
According to Deb, the poll results of the four states are the testimony of people’s trust in the good governance being rendered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the victory is a clear validation of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Viswas mantra of the Prime Minister.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Tripura government also accelerated the pace of development in every field including healthcare, education, communication system and Public Distribution System, Deb said.
The state government is also working for women empowerment on a priority basis, the Chief Minister added.
He expressed hope that the people of Tripura would continue to keep their faith in the state government. He also called upon the people to celebrate the victory in a peaceful, responsible and disciplined manner.
The workers of the state BJP led by their president Dr Manik Saha joined celebrations across the state.
As soon as the BJP started leading in majority of the seats in the four states, specially in Uttar Pradesh, the jubilant BJP supporters in Agartala and other towns started assembling in various places including the state party headquarters—they played colors, burst firecrackers, exchanged sweets and danced with the beats of drums.
The celebration broke out in almost all parts of the BJP-ruled Tripura while BJP state president Dr. Manik Saha led a victory rally in Agartala.
