Friends following a brawl in a booze party bludgeoned a 29-year-old, Anup Sutradhar on Saturday. The incident took place at DM Colony in Teliamura on early Saturday. Police , however, acted immediately and arrested all the seven involved in the murder incident. One of the accused persons made an attempt to commit suicide, but Police managed to arrest him – in total all the seven accused persons were arrested.

On Friday night, the deceased, Anup Sutradhar, received a phone call to join a booze party in the same locality and he went there. Later, an altercation over some issues started between Anup and others which turned fatal for Anup Sutradhar.

After thrashing him, miscreants dragged him and took to a place behind the house of one Prafulla Sarkar. After dumping critically injured Anup Sutradhar, the miscreants informed latter’s family members.

Family members rescued Anup and took him to Teliamura Hospital with critical injuries. Later, he was referred to GB Hospital and succumbed on Saturday morning.

The deceased’s family members lodged a complaint against seven persons – Prashanta Sutradhar, Prasenjit Sarkar, Prafulla Sarkar, Gautam Sarkar, Ratan Sarkar, Paritosh Sutradhar and Pritam Sutradhar.

Police detained Prasenjit Sarkar on Friday night – and arrested six persons out of the seven accused persons.

One accused, Paritosh Sutradhar, remained absconding. On Saturday evening, he jumped into the Khowai River from the newly built bridge in Teliamura. Soon, Fire Service personnel and Police rescued and arrested him.
