BJP’s state unit’s organizational meeting began on Tuesday with party’s national general secretary (org) B.L. Santosh on chair. Santosh arrived here on Tuesday.
The meeting assumed significance as it not only would discuss the road map for the 2023 assembly polls but also likely to announce the candidate for party’s president post – as incumbent president Dr Manik Saha who is also Chief Minister is expected to relinquish the party position.
The meeting was attended by all the BJP senior with president Dr Saha, state in charge Vinod Sonkar , former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, MoS of Union government Pratima Bhowmik in the dais and meeting being presided over by BL Santosh. The meeting was also attended by general secretary (org) for Assam and Tripura units- Phanindranath Sharma.
Deb returned from Delhi only on Tuesday and went straight to the party headquarters in Krishnanagar to attend the meeting.
The meeting would seek to find ways to revamp the party and make it more aggressively suitable to go to the assembly elections slated in February 2023. Besides, the meeting on Tuesday discussed preparations for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Santosh also discussed party’s organizational matters with the ministers, MLAs and other party leaders including Morcha and district presidents.
Santosh would another round of important meetings with the party leaders where the next president’s name would be finalized.
Bhowmik after the meeting told media that the meetin was about the organization.
On the rumour that former Chief Minister would be suspended Education minister Ratanlal Nath said, “people are well aware of the politically fake news mongers to misguide the people.”
Nath claimed that the BJP government had already fulfilled 99 per cent of the promises made in the vision document and the rest of the works would be completed before Durga Puja.
Union Minister of State and BJP state prabhari along with party’s other leaders received Santosh at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport.
The Chief Minister met him at State Guest House.
