BJP exudes strong confidence ahead of Dharmanagar by-election 2026, with CM Manik Saha highlighting development, grassroots support, and candidate strength. Party aims decisive victory amid opposition challenges in Tripura’s crucial electoral battleground.
Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a decisive victory in the upcoming Dharmanagar by-election scheduled for April 9. Emphasizing the party’s development-driven agenda and organizational strength, the Chief Minister asserted that the BJP is well-positioned to retain the crucial seat.
Dr. Saha stated that the party’s central leadership has nominated Jwahar Chakraborty as its candidate, describing him as a dedicated and long-time party worker with deep roots in the constituency. Highlighting his personal association, the Chief Minister recalled his earlier visits to Dharmanagar for party activities alongside Chakraborty, underscoring the candidate’s longstanding commitment to the BJP.
“People of Dharmanagar know him well, and that is a major advantage for us. His family has also been actively associated with the party. We are confident of winning this election without any doubt,” Dr. Saha said.
The Chief Minister further noted that the BJP treats every election with utmost seriousness, regardless of its scale. With both the by-election and district council polls approaching, he emphasized that the party machinery is fully mobilized to ensure success on both fronts.
“We are working tirelessly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our development initiatives across Tripura will be our biggest strength as we approach the people,” he added.
Dr. Saha also took a swipe at opposition parties, noting that while the CPI(M) has announced its candidate, the Congress appears to be struggling to finalize its electoral strategy this time. He suggested that internal challenges within the opposition could work in BJP’s favor.
“Last year, there was a Congress candidate, but this time they seem to be facing difficulties. However, this will not affect us. We have fielded a strong candidate and are confident of winning the seat,” he remarked.
